The Department of Accreditation and Certification of the EIASC is responsible for ensuring Muslim customers are seeking halal items as prescribed by Shariah. It is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing guidelines for the growth of halal services, as well as issuing certification for halal items used in Ethiopian businesses. Before granting the halal certificate, the Department validates the halal status of the raw materials and products by conducting an official site inspection.
